Art Talk at the Flemington Library with Anita Genovese-Mahoney

Please join the Friends of the Flemington Library at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 19, for an evening with Anita Genovese-Mahoney, a local artist who will be sharing her work, inspirations and future plans.

Anita attended Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, VA in the late 80’s and studied Graphic Design and Illustration.  She then transferred to The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and majored in Illustration.  After a move to NYC she freelanced and worked in a creative capacity at Carbone Smolan, Pei Partnership Architects, and Tamarkin Co.  She is now pursuing a degree in Art Education at The College of New Jersey.

Anita specializes in children’s book illustration, landscapes, nature and landscape photography. She works with various media including Oils, Watercolor, Pencil, Charcoal, Pen & Ink.

“My passion is to be able to teach children that through art they can connect themselves more deeply to the world in their own way as well as open themselves up to new ways of seeing and learning to appreciate and experience deeper forms of beauty.  The Performing and Visual Arts bring all cultures and people together and teach tolerance and acceptance.  I can’t see anything better than that!  I am so excited to begin a new stage in my journey as an artist.”

All are welcome to a display and discussion of her works.
