Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes
January 19, 2017
The Flemington Free Public Library (FFPL) Board of Trustees was called to order at 9:08 by Board President Jane DeHaven. Shawn Armington, Warren Buckleitner, Grace Chang-Fuoti, Elizabeth Fisher, Jim Rossetti and Steve Rogow were in attendance.
SECRETARIES REPORT One minor correction— a misspelling. Minutes were approved by Liz (second Steve).
TREASURER’S REPORT
The warm weather has been good for our gas bill. Liz added that we’d like to thank former FFPL Board President Anne Thomas for her gift of $500. The treasurers Report was reviewed, approved and filed for audit. Jim moved to accept; Steve seconded.
CORRESPONDENCE
Liz attended the reorganization dinner where Borough Liaison Brooke Leibowitz acknowledged the library staff.
CONTINUING BUSINESS
The roof and gutter repair efforts are continuing. An architect will be visiting along with the Borough engineer.
NEW BUSINESS
Mediatech: Warren reported that he is working on a grant and provided detail, and suggested we should do more Thursday night chats on topics like Uber/Lyft. A .Net user group will be using Mediatech as a meetup space on the second Thursday of every month. One topic will be Twilio (a tool that lets you build apps that communicate with others).
Jane suggested that we might think about creating an information flow so that the Library Trustees are kept in the loop about events created by Friends and Mediatech. The next meeting date will be determined in the Annual meeting.
The Board adjourned at 9:48 AM; the annual meeting was started.
