  1. Ken Kutscher says:

WATCHING WALTER CRONKITE:REFLECTIONS ON GROWING UP IN THE 1950s and 1960s is my “memoir” or auto/fiction of that period. Altlhough the story, written in 2007, revolves around our lives as we were growing up from childhood throught adolescence and “early maturity,” it is written as history makes its passage through the era.

Sigrid Nunez in her new novel, THE VULNERABLES,” wrote:
“I know the truth that matters is what you experience while reading, the states of feeling that the story evokes, the questions that rise to your mind, rather than the fictional events described.”

My goal in writing the book was not to make our experiences unique. Rather, my goal was to have you, the reader, personally “reflect” on how you felt during this era, to have you relate to our joys and sadness, triumphs and defeats.

Hopefully our discussion will not only relate to the remarkable events that occurred, but also how we each “survived” as we grew into adulthood – as the world exploded and/or celebrated these times

    Best
