Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes
March 18, 2022
The regular session of the Flemington Free Public Library (FFPL) Board of Trustees meeting was called to order at 9:39 am by Board President Jane DeHaven. In attendance were Library Director Shawn Armington, plus board members Jane DeHaven, Steve Rogow, Jim Rossetti, Liz Fisher and Warren Buckleitner.
REVIEW OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
The Feb 18 minutes were reviewed and discussed. Liz approved and Steve seconded.
The March 4 special meeting minutes were reviewed and discussed. Jane approved, and Liz seconded.
TREASURERS REPORT
Liz reviewed the Treasurers Report for March 2022. Jane noted that the gas bill was high.
There was some discussion about the elevator; a necessary replacement part is being fabricated.
Jane accepted. Jim seconded.
LIBRARY DIRECTORS REPORT
Shawn reported that the boiler pipes were repaired for a reasonable price.
Shawn sent a link for a donor wall. There was a good deal of discussion about different options. The board decided there was no urgency to the matter; but it was worth exploring. The idea of listing donors on the web site was discussed.
Shawn reported that the library is now fully open and groups are meeting again. No restrictions are in place. We will ask the borough council for their meeting policy and follow their lead.
The fringe benefits lines on our 2022 financial reports have been adjusted as the 2021 expenditure figures became available from the borough, adding $20,000 to more accurately reflect the borough’s ongoing health insurance expenditures. This figure does not precisely represent the anticipated expenditures, which are not available ahead of time.
The meeting was adjourned by Jane at 10:16 AM.
